780 mm Narrow Access: Excavation, Backfill and Grading in 2 Days
Groundbreakers —
The job site featured very narrow passages, with a minimum width of approximately 780 mm (30.7 in), making access impossible for conventional machines. Excavation, grading and backfill operations (fill material, topsoil and turf) were required alongside a new retaining wall, in an extremely confined space.
The Cormidi C7X tracked minidumper, paired with a Kubota U10-5 excavator, allowed both machines to operate together in spaces with a minimum width of approximately 780 mm (30.7 in). The C7X provided continuous transport of fill material, topsoil and turf along the narrow side accesses of the property, while also enabling preparation of the subbase for the concrete formwork.
The job was completed in just 2 days. The entire area was cleared, leveled and fully reinstated, including preparation of the side access for concrete formwork, without requiring larger equipment or extensive manual labor.
